Press Release
Morocco Omari stars in “Tune In, Get Out: The Tubby Watts Story”

DIRECTOR JOE CABALLERO
helms the short “Tune In, Get Out: The Tubby Watts Story,” based on a talented young piano player he met as a youth guidance counselor for the Becoming a Man program.

“I was so inspired by this young man's energy and spirit, that I wrote a short film based on it,” Caballero says.

Caballero’s fellow Marine, Morocco Omari (“24 & The Beast”), stars alongside kids from Becoming a Man. Del Harvey is producing “Tune In, Get Out” for Rought Cut NFP and Dagoberto Soto and Ruben Uribe’s Structure Productions. It shoots in late June.

Caballero is also developing the feature “Fighting Hole,” based on his experience in Desert Storm. See www.delharveyfilms.com/Tubby. —Ed M. Koziarski

Chicago Filmmakers Team Up For Inspiring Film About Realizing Your Dreams

Two Chicago film organizations, Rough Cut NFP and Structure Productions, are teaming up to produce an inspiring film about a young man whose life seemed to be headed towards a dead-end except for one thing – his love for playing the piano and his ambition to be the best musician he could be. This film is the brainchild of local actor, filmmaker, and former US Marine Joe Caballero. Joe does a lot of community outreach throughout Chicago and works with inner city youths in programs designed to help them learn how to better themselves. Working in the “BAM” Program (Becoming A Man, founded by Tony Di Vittorio), Joe met a young man whose life seemed a dead-end except for one thing - his love of piano and his ambition to be the best musician he can. This young man inspired, “Tune In, Get Out: The Tubby Watts Story.” Joe has completed the script for this inspiring and powerful short film and is producing it through the collaboration of Rough Cut NFP and Structure Productions. A new non-profit organization, Rough Cut NFP’s goal is to help aspiring young filmmakers. Structure Productions is a new local film and video production company owned by Dagoberto Soto and Ruben Uribe.

“Tune In, Get Out” will begin filming in Chicago at the end of June. Rough Cut and Structure are working in association with a number of local organizations and businesses; include caring people at the Roberto Clemente Academy, Kareem andDee’sSoul Food on Division, Gregg Parker and The Blues Museum, and many others interested in telling a positive story about how dreams can inspire change.
